Chicken shawarma

Chicken shawerma is the ultimate street food in the Levant region. This is a simple baked recipe that will still give you the best flavor combo.

  • 2 lb chicken thigh
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp Spice Tribe sumac
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp allspice


  1. Cut chicken diagonally into 1/2 inch strips
  2. Add all spices
  3. Mix well and put in the refrigerate
  4. Heat oven to 425
  5. Lay chicken on a baking sheet
  6. Drizzle with olive oil
  7. Put in the oven for 30 minutes and flip halfway through
  8. When fully cooked, take out and let it rest for at least 10 minutes
  9. Assemble sandwich with fresh pita, garlic sauce, and/or purple onions, tomatoes, parsley, turnip pickle
