Ramadan with Saffron Road 2021 is such an exciting time of year for me. You’ve heard me discuss my love for the month of Ramadan many times before. This time of year is all about fasting and all about eating, ironically. Basically, from sunrise to sunset, its all about fasting, spiritual cleansing, being mindful, and thinking about what to break your fast with. From sunset to sunrise, it’s all about eating, spiritual cleansing, being mindful and large gatherings. It’s a month full of giant thanksgiving like feasts with friends and family. Thirty full days of lots of cooking. Which is exciting, but can def be exhausting so short cuts are important.

It is common during Ramadan for people to break their fasts on soup. I love using Saffron Road simmer sauces to create a soup. I just bring it to a simmer with additional broth or water and thats it. It’s literally the fastest way to get soup on the table. If you have a protein just add the protein, any additional vegetable and then the simmer sauce.
