Cumin Honey Cod is literally the fastest most delicious dish you can get on the table. Just a handful of ingredients and about 20 minutes and you are done.
The combination of honey and lime make the sauce a real nice syrupy sauce but when you add the cumin and garlic and top it with cilantro you’re really in for a nice treat.
Let’s talk about Cod Fish. Is it good for you?
My go to fish has always been salmon because I know it’s packed with omega 3. But if you want a fish that has mild taste, buttery texture, and is also very healthy for you, Cod fish is your answer. However, a lot of places label any white fish cod so if you want the true nutrients of cod make sure you are buying Pacific Cod or Atlantic cod.
Some benefits of Cod fish include:
- high in protein, low in carbs
- good source of B vitamins
- does have omega 3, although less than salmon
- low in mercury
Make sure you always eat Cod fully cooked because it can contain parasites. Do not consume raw. You will know when it is fully cooked when the flakes easily fall off with a fork.
If you enjoy cumin you will enjoy some other cumin dishes like Cumin Chicken, Cumin roasted vegetables ,Carrot avocado salad with cumin citrus dressing or this cumin lime yogurt that pairs nicely with most dishes.
This entire dish comes together in less than 25 minutes. The cod is buttery soft, the sauce is sweet and tangy from the honey and the lime with an extra depth of flavor from the cumin. A spectacular dish that no one will believe took 25 minutes to make!
