Maple Pecan Butter cups are so delicious and yummy that it’s hard to eat just one, or two, or three. They are made from ingredients that are easily found and probably in your home already so thats always a good thing. Nothing is more discouraging then finding a recipe that calls for ingredients that need a special trip to a special supermarket. This isn’t one of those recipes.Jump to Recipe Print Recipe
Although they are made with simple ingredients making the cups is a little time consuming. Definitely plan on using 2 trays at the same time to decrease the waiting time. And if making everything mini isn’t top on your priority list, consider making them into bars instead of mini cups. It will drastically reduce the prep time and taste just as good.
The first time I made them I did not make a hole in the cup deep enough. So it was a lot of dough and not as much filling. However, the more dough less filling ones did have a fan base when I tested them out on friends. The dough tastes good and some people like more dough than crunch so keep that in mind. Adjust to your liking is what I’m saying. It’s like when people, including my dad, don’t like chocolate chips in their chocolate chip cookies. More dough, less chip for some people.

The most time consuming part of these yummy pecan bites is making the cups. The dough is pretty grainy and it can get messy. An easier alternative is to make them into pecan bars which are just as yummy. Halve the dough recipe and prebake for 10 minutes in a 9 in square pan before spreading the filling on top and bake the entire pan for 15-20 minutes
