Here we are again, with our amazing naturally sweet friend the Medjool date from Natural Delights! The options with these sweet little guys are endless, so we keep coming up with new ways for them to make our recipes sweeter, the healthy way!
Chock full of vitamins, minerals and fiber, dates are a great way to add healthy sweetness to smoothies! The great thing is that a little bit of this super fruit goes a long way! But wait a minute….let’s not sleep on our new star of the moment….TURMERIC! It too boasts a wide range of health benefits and has become quite the popular kid on the food block!
Turmeric has a compound in it called curcumin, which is a substance that contains really powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The people of India have used this spice for ages and now we too are starting to introduce it into our recipes! This smoothie is really sweet and delicious! It only has 5 ingredients and whips up real quick so it’s definitely easy to incorporate into your breakfast or snack routine! Medjool Date & Turmeric Smoothie
This easy to make delicious smoothie is as healthy as it is sweet!
- 1 cup almond milk
- 5 medjool dates, Natural Delights
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- 1/2 cup mango, frozen
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chia seeds optional
In a blender, add almond milk and dates and blend until dates are fully broken down. Add remaining ingredients and blend until everything is well combined.
Feel free to add less dates or omit the banana if you don't like a lot of sweetness. Sub for coconut milk or any other milk. Add any other nuts or seeds.
